Deploy / Retract all wsp from solution managment
This is the second update, it contains a new section to add the wsp to solution managment from a folder located on the file system (local drive), this is used for bluk wsp adding where you want to add more than one wsp to solution managment at one time (as
many as you want).
You need the wsp and the manifest.xml file for it to work properly.
So in the folder you would have a subfolder for each wsp with its corresponding manifest, xml
If you dont want subfolders than you can go into the advance section and select the manifest to be the same as the wsp name by checking "use wsp name". You would need in the folder to have the wsp and the manifest exactly the same name but with the
extention of wsp and xml as they will be the same name there is no need to create sub folders as the manifest file would be different for each one.
I have created an advance section for adding the wsp so you can change the manifest name if different than manifest.xml or have it the same as the wsp to look for within the folder. You can select to search for wsp or cab.
The next part is for the webapp location on the local folder which you can change as the default location when searching and select a default zone
This was created so I could bulk deploy all wsp to a specific web application.
The first tab is to deploy. Just select from the drop down box a web application you want and click the button. Depending on the ammount will determin how long it will take for the app to become responsive. When its finished you will get a message saying "Done"
and then you should see in the textbox the result :)
The second tab is for retracting. Same as above just select from the drop down box a web application you want and click the button. Depending on the ammount will determin how long it will take for the app to become responsive. When its finished you will get
a message saying "Done" and then you should see in the textbox the result :)
For both of these options if you were to go into solution managment in central admin you should see the status for the wsp as deploying or retracting. As its going though many wsp's it would not go in order down the list as stated in msdn.
change Virtual Directories
the last tab is to change the web application VirtualDirectories folder, you just need to enter the web application url that you want to move, click the button and select where the web applications current Virtual Directory currently resides.
